Many of their superyachts were seized or frozen, leading industry insiders to question their fate. The war prompted many governments to enact sanctions against Russia's richest, including seizing their superyachts worth hundreds of millions of dollars. PARK CITY, Utah (AP) — Chiwetel Ejiofor had read Jeff Hobbs’ “The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace” years before Antoine Fuqua asked if he might consider writing and directing an adaptation. Some of the narratives chalked it up to the fact that he went back to where he came from. “I thought it was very special and very powerful,” Ejiofor told The Associated Press in a recent interview. “I never felt that it was a story about somebody who was able to play a role in different places,” Ejiofor said. Ejiofor wants audiences to have a sense of hope in Rob’s story as well as to feel enriched by knowing him.

Sept 27 (Reuters) - Kuwait's Abdullah Al-Rashidi claimed his fourth Asian Games gold medal in skeet shooting on Wednesday and the 60-year-old said the secret to his longevity and his sharp vision is staying away from the phone and social media. To put Al-Rashidi's age in perspective, Naruka was born in 1998 -- the same year the veteran Kuwaiti shooter won his third world title. I don't look at the phone or Twitter, because this is not good for your eyes. Despite winning gold medals at the world championships and Asian Games, his best result at the Olympics was bronze in Rio and Tokyo. With the Paris Olympics around the corner in 2024, Al-Rashidi said he still has a long way to go before he decides to call it a day.

NEW DELHI, July 30 (Reuters) - The International Olympic Committee has asked India's Randhir Singh to continue as acting head of the Olympic Council of Asia, according to a letter seen by Reuters, after the IOC refused to recognise the Asian governing body's elections. Sheikh Ahmad has denied any wrongdoing. Sheikh Talal was appointed OCA president by a margin of 24 votes to 20 over his fellow Kuwaiti, Husain Al-Musallam. The trial considered whether Sheikh Ahmad had used a bogus Kuwaiti coup plot to gain advantage over political rivals. Sheikh Ahmad denied all the charges in the case and appealed the conviction.

Some Democratic lawmakers have begun posting on "Bluesky," the latest alternative to Twitter. And for the Democratic lawmakers who use the platform, it's a place that feels safer and more gentle than Twitter. "The invite tree accountability makes people more judicious about bringing in solid people," wrote Ocasio-Cortez in a "skeet" this week. But I've [posted] triple digits in less than a week [on Bluesky]," she wrote in an earlier post. In a "skeet" on Bluesky, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez declares the platform to be "safer and more fun" than Twitter.

The third category is just the jobs that I think are going to be protected, the jobs that we won’t let AI do. But I don’t actually think the speed of it matters at all.
Credit Suisse staff had already been seeking to jump ship in recent weeks, sources told Reuters. "Many Credit Suisse bankers had already been talking to a lot of people for a while [about leaving the Swiss bank]. LONDON, Feb 1 (Reuters) - GSK (GSK.L) chief executive Emma Walmsley on Wednesday made replenishing the drugmaker's pipeline of vaccines and therapies her number-one priority.
